The Lone Tree - The Lake District
The lone tree at the northern end of Buttermere, on a wild winter afternoon.

You wouldn’t know it from looking at this but the squalls blowing down the lake, lifting walls of water in their wake, where so strong that you literally couldn’t stand up.

I captured this image as one of the biggest squalls blew in. A few moments later I was bracing myself against the tripod trying to stay upright and then hiding behind a tree waiting for it to blow through, which unfortunately it never really did!
