Admiral Von Tromp - Yorkshire Coast
Black Nab and the wreck of the Admiral Von Tromp at Saltwick Bay.

I love Saltwick Bay. It is only a mile or so from Whitby but few people, apart from photographers and fossil hunters, seem to know it exists. On busy summer days it's a forgotten haven in which to escape the crowds. There is a lovely, sandy beach and at low tide a huge expanse of rock scar is exposed. It's a fascinating place to explore.

This is a winter sunrise, just as the sun breaks the horizon.
